Bio
A little more about me, I have a big extended family, and my immediate family includes both of my parents, my brother (26) and my sister (34), I have 3 nephews and 1 niece, a grandmother here on earth and one who has recently passed. My family is everything to me and we have a lot of fun family traditions. I have a good group of friends at school and like being part of the Shaker community. I am a high honors/honors student, I have been awarded student of the month several times in my school years, and I have played the saxophone since 4th grade. I love football but also am passionate about basketball playing in two leagues (travel and modified) each year. My favorite hobby is drawing; I have talent for art but definitely spend the least of my time doing this activity. I also have a lot of fun playing video games with my friends and family.
Why This Matters
Hello, my name is Drake, I have lived in the North Colonie school district since I was born. I am moving into the high school this year and am looking forward to this year's football season. I have played tackle football since I was 5 years old and played for the North Colonie youth league as well as the Modified team for two years. This last season, I achieved player of the game, several opportunities to be a leader and captain of the team and grew as a player on both sides of the football. I take on a leadership role and take it very seriously. This year I was given the opportunity to take on a new role and helped the team where they needed. I am so excited and honored for the chance to compete at the All State event July 9th to not only learn and perfect my own skills but to also share what I learn with my teammates.
Financial Needs
Both my parents are single parents running their households on their own. They both work in the healthcare field (Dad's a nurse and Mom's an Occupational Therapist), and they always support me and fund all my extracurricular needs. This event was a last-minute selection and an unexpected expense and would appreciate any further support to offset the cost.
